How ReStory competitions work.

The complete route from Shinji's first app installer to the three competition achievements—plus the mistake that costs the most time.

Quick answer

Meet Furutsuno and obtain the Soldering Iron, then complete Shinji's early jobs. After you collect the repaired phone from the counter, Shinji sends an email with the Akiba Championship installer. Install the app on the shop computer to order competition devices.

The contest is not available from day one. If the email has not arrived, finish pending Shinji tasks, collect completed counter items and read new mail before assuming the save is broken.

  1. Progress Furutsuno's introduction until the Soldering Iron is available.
  2. Complete Shinji's requested repairs and physically collect the repaired phone.
  3. Open Shinji's email and install the Akiba Championship app.
  4. Order a contest box, then store it if you are not ready to attempt the timer.

Timer rules

What changes on the purple mat.

Drag a competition box onto the blue work pad. The pad turns purple, the supplied parts are laid out and the countdown begins. The regular placement hints are disabled. A wrong placement returns parts to the mat while the timer keeps running, so guessing repeatedly is expensive.

Rebuild the same model normally first

Learn the outer shell, cables and repeated pieces without a clock. A screenshot-free alternative is a handwritten layer list beside the mat.

Place the deepest layer first

If a part refuses to place, stop and inspect what sits underneath. Random attempts consume time because the reset does not pause the timer.

Separate identical names by silhouette

The XI-box has two parts named Front Panel. Use the parts-menu preview and position, not the label alone.

Ship only after the completion state appears

A visually closed device can still be incomplete. Confirm the game accepts the build, then send the contest package.

Story requirement

Community route records consistently report four competition wins for story progression. Treat that as the campaign target; record-chasing and achievement cleanup can wait.

Achievement route

Promise, Star and Legend of Akiba.

  • Promise: win your first competition.
  • Star: continue winning as the championship route advances.
  • Legend of Akiba: win at least one competition in every available device type. You do not need the record on every individual device.

Competition fixes in the official changelog.

Official updates 1.0.009r through 1.0.013r include competition inventory, item and progression fixes. Update the game before troubleshooting an old save. We do not claim undocumented pause or exit behavior because the available evidence is not consistent enough.
