Symptom index / recovery first

Fix a stuck ReStory repair.

Start with what the game is doing, then separate an unfinished task from a known version bug before you repeat hours of work.

First check

Open the order notebook and read every requirement. A device can look fully assembled while a dirty part, damaged component, paint color, firmware step or required replacement still keeps the job incomplete.

The repair will not complete.

  1. Reopen the order and identify every task verb: clean, repair, replace, paint, update or assemble.
  2. Use each part's state indicator—dirty, damaged or usable—to find hidden internal faults.
  3. Confirm required items are on the repair mat. A part stored in inventory may still count as missing from the active build.
  4. Inspect the final shell layer only after every cable, board and frame beneath it is installed.
  5. If the game still refuses completion, save, return to the shop and reopen the device before dismantling it again.

Layer order

A part will not move or place.

The usual cause is a deeper dependency, not a broken drag target. Rotate the model, turn on screw assistance and check for a hidden screw, ribbon cable, cover or internal frame. One overlooked fastener can make half the device appear unresponsive.

Identical part names

On XI-box, two components are both labelled Front Panel. Open the parts-menu preview and compare shape and position. Installing the wrong one can force you to back out several layers.

Parts recovery

A part disappeared or the market is empty.

  • Check the mat and inventory separately. The game may require a part on the active mat rather than stored away.
  • Inspect donor devices one at a time. Teardown does not automatically organize useful components; clean, assess and store each part before opening the next donor.
  • Use Packuten or wait for restock. Marketplace supply changes; an empty listing is not proof the save is broken.
  • Update from old builds. Official 1.0.013r notes include a fix for parts disappearing from the Sonic Bath.

Story blockers

Email, firmware or a license route is stuck.

No new competition emailFinish Shinji's jobs, collect the repaired phone from the counter, then read mail.
Firmware option unavailableUpdate the game; firmware availability was addressed in 1.0.009r and later controller work in 1.0.013r.
License/story progress does not advanceClear pending counter pickups and messages, then update; 1.0.013r includes a license-related story blocker fix.

Timed mode

Competition parts reset while the clock runs.

That behavior is the penalty for a wrong placement, not necessarily a bug. Stop guessing, identify the deepest valid layer and use the component silhouette. See the full competition unlock and winning guide. If items are genuinely unavailable, compare your build with official patch notes because competition inventory received fixes after launch.

Unlock checks

An achievement did not pop.

First confirm the exact condition in the 50-achievement tracker; several similar-looking milestones are not interchangeable. Then update the game and repeat only the final trigger if possible. Do not overwrite all five save slots while testing. For endings, keep a manual backup before the decisive late-game choice.

Current baseline

Official fixes through build 1.0.013r.

This site treats 1.0.013r as the latest verified official public build. It includes fixes involving Sonic Bath item loss, gamepad firmware, license progression and earlier competition, mail and screw issues. A community-reported 1.0.015r reference is not promoted as the official site-wide baseline without an official release record.
